The Freshman 15--the Budapest Bulge

It's time to get real about the growing waistlines that many of our group memebers have experienced. No one goes hungry in Hungary while on a Fulbright seminar. Each meal is a gourmet feast with at least 3 courses, enjoyed at a very leisurely pace. This last weekend we were treated to many types of soups from Goulash, vegetable, cold fruit soups. Main entrees have included fried pork, chicken, catfish. Desserts were a marble cake with sour cherries and a creme, custard topping; grilled peaches with hazelnut creme and so many other delights that I can't remember them all. A saving factor to all this fabulous food is all the daily walking we have done. Adding sit ups and some pilates at night should help to offset some of effects of the weight gain!
