Budapest's Kogart House
Our morning was filled with a lecture concerning Hungary on the map of History--The 1956 Hungarian Revolution presented by Dr. Csaba Bekes. We also watched 'Children of Glory' a historical fiction piece about the 1956 Revolution.
Huong and I traveled to the Kogart House Museum this afternoon in lieu of going to the House of Terror. We had a lovely walk down a tree lined boulevard to get to the Kogart House. The cost was $1.800 forints per person. We enjoyed looking at art from more than 150 or more years ago The main artist display was on Marffy Odon (1878-1959). The building itself was quite lovely, had been taken over by the communists and their youth league. It was purchased privately and opened as a restaurant and art gallery. My favorite piece Aequilibrium, a tapestry by Zsuzsa Pereli depicted an angel rising in the golden air. When we returned to our little home away from home, the Hotel Ibis we met with 4 teachers in a English Language elementary school.
