Round Table Paddle Boating Dining on the Rooftop

Our day started with a roundtable discussion about the Czech system of education, highlighting the continuing changes since the days of the Communist Regime. We were fortunate to hear from both Katrina, one of our Fulbright hosts and Lenka, a primary level classroom, former Special Education teacher. Certainly there are some differences between the Czech and American systems....but as teachers in the profession across the globe, there seems to be a lot of commanlities in the ways that teachers devote themselves to the education of children and in the ways that 'society' seems to value its' teachers.

We enjoyed part of our 'free' afternoon with paddleboating on the Vltava River. The views on the river give a whole new perspective to sightseeing in Prague. Even though we got a little sunburnt, we had a relaxing hour paddling up and down but always staying within the area of the buoys...so we wouldn't be pulled into the spillway current.

The Vlatava is the longest River in the Czech Republic with 18 bridges and several dams....en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vltava

Views of our dinner at dusk on the Hotel U Prince Terrace in Old Square, Prague. If it looks like we are on top of the world...it's because we are. Had a lovely supper and great company in our second to last group dinner together. We will meet again for the final group supper on Friday for a dinner cruise on the Vlatava River!
